Description

A meeting place, cafe bistro, and so much more.

The bakery cafe’ offers a fast-casual restaurant serving made to order breakfast & lunch items, a unique selection of fine cheeses and meats, market & deli items, specialty coffees & teas. It’s important to note that we also cater to those with special dietary needs and also produce vegetarian, gluten, dairy, egg and nut free items all in a peanut free operation.

Step inside, the interior of Little Vienna Bakery has an authentic Austrian decor; complete with full-length Baroque-style mirrors, gold chandeliers, ornate crown mouldings, period-correct furniture, and a collection of hand-painted Austrian murals by world-renowned French artist Philippe Metaireau who was specially commissioned.

A 600 square foot paving stone courtyard complete with a beautifully ornate 3-tiered fountain, all set within the expansive raised flower gardens on the bakery grounds completes the special ambience. Whether it’s a business meeting, just a quick bite or a sit down with a group of friends we welcome you with a smile.

Little Vienna Bakery, Café & Marketplace was founded by Michelle & Andreas Ruttkiewizc in 2003, who nurtured the business through it’s early years. Susan & Michael Nyikes purchased the business in 2010, and through their dedication, hard work, and leadership, successfully guided LVB through the next phase of it’s journey, all the while upholding the traditions & vision of it’s founders. Peggy & Ron Gardiner took the reins from Susan & Michael in late 2018, and along with their awesome dedicated team members, the belief of using high quality ingredients & artisan baking techniques, are committed to the continued success of Little Vienna.

Thank you to our local supporters who enabled us to receive the Sooke region 2012 Business of The Year award and be a Top 5 Finalist in the 2014 Vancouver Island Small Business of Year category, and 2016 Vancouver Island Food Establishment of the Year Category, while also receiving the 2016 Dining and Hospitality Award for the Sooke region.
